Our general meeting on Thursday, June 19 was our 2nd Annual Chapter Celebration. Approximately 65 members and friends gathered for great food, fellowship, Silent Auction goodies, and a Raffle to finish off the evening.
Many thanks to our generous donors: Acorn Naturalists, Arribe Baja Grill, Connie Bowen, Laura Camp, Gina’s Pizza & Pastaria, Nancy Heuler, Sarah Jayne, Brad Jenkins, Dave Richens of Oneoak, Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden, Roger’s Gardens, Dan Songster, and Veggie Grill.
Celia Kutcher was the recipient of the Native Perennial Award for distinguished, long-term service to the Chapter. We all express our great appreciation to Celia for her outstanding chapter leadership.
Our main speaker was Steven Ingram, presenting a great talk about his new book, Cacti, Agaves, and Yuccus of California and Nevada from Cachuma Press. Steven’s photographs of these fascinating plants were stunning, and he topped off the evening with a slideshow of great images accompanied with music.
